Outdoors Clothing Covent Garden

OutdoorsThe first marketplace in London was situated on the grounds of the courthouse in a framed shed in 1835. It was recognized as the town's first official market in 1846. At the time, the cost to rent a market stall was considered a high price at about $800 to $1,000 and the operations were deemed problematic. Local townsmen then donated some of their lots to create a public market at King and Talbot Streets.

In 1999, a brand new market was constructed on the same site at a cost of $14 million. Today, the market is a hub for rural and urban exchange, organic and local foods, meats, cheese, flowers and more. Twice a week during the summer on Thursdays and Saturdays, an outdoor farmer's market takes over the Market Square with local, fresh produce, baked goods and meats. A number of local cultural organizations and arts groups also hold events in the outdoor Market Square, as well as the Spriet Theatre and art school inside.
